Five Star Rating

For two consecutive years (2014 and 2015), Emmanuel Home Health, Inc. has been given a 5-star rating for the category in home health. The Federal government awarded star ratings to home health agencies based on quality measures such as how quickly patients began receiving visits from nurses and other skilled caregivers and how many patients improved in performing basic activities such as walking and getting out of bed. There are 239 out of 2,700 home health agencies in the country that received Medicare’s highest rating of five stars. These ratings are based on performance from fall 2013 through last year.

The Home Health Compare uses the quality of patient care star rating to show consumers how the performance of home health agency compares to other agencies. Agencies get a rating from 1 to 5 stars, with 1 being the lowest score and 5 representing the highest performance. The quality of patient care summarizes each agency’s performance on 9 individual quality measures reported on Home Health Compare which give a general overview of agency performance on measures that apply to the most people. These quality of patient care star rating are calculated and based on home health patient assessment and Medicare claims.
